Elderly Man Dies, 5 Injured In Bee Attack In Kendrapara

Bee Attack In Kendrapara

Bhubaneswar: A 76-year-old man died and five others were injured after a sudden bee attack in Jagulaipada village under Rajkanika police station in Kendrapara district on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Bailochan Biswal.

According to reports, the incident occurred yesterday afternoon when villagers were near a tree close to the Jagulaipada village school. A swarm of bees attacked them unexpectedly, leaving six people injured.

All the victims were immediately taken to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Rajkanika. Bailochan, whose condition was critical, was first shifted to Kendrapara District Headquarters Hospital and later referred to SCB Medical College & Hospital in Cuttack. Despite treatment, he succumbed to his injuries on Saturday evening.

The remaining five victims sustained minor to moderate injuries and are currently in stable condition, confirmed Jyoti Prakash Dash, Medical Officer at Rajkanika CHC.
