Balikuda(Jagatsinghpur): In a horrifying incident, an elderly man was allegedly hacked to death by a man with a chopper on Friday at Bargudipada village under Balikuda police limits in Jagatsinghpur district.
The deceased has been identified as Prahallad Das. Police have arrested the accused identified as Bana Das of Naradia village. Police have seized the weapon of offence used in the murder.
According to reports, today at around 1.30 PM while Prahallad was in his home, Bana hacked him to death with a chopper.
While accused Bana was fleeing the spot after committing the murder, he was caught by the villagers who handed him over to the police.
Though the actual reason behind the murder is not clear, Prahallad and Bana had a heated argument over the latter grazing his pigs in the former’s garden.
