Bhubaneswar: An elderly man died after being attacked by a bull at the Maa Bhuasuni temple near the Mahanadi riverbank under Bidanasi police limits in Cuttack district, on Monday.
The victim was a resident of a nearby village.
According to reports, the bull, which had been roaming near the temple, suddenly attacked the elderly man when the latter was taking stroll along the riverbank in the early morning. The elderly person died on the spot.
Upon receiving a tip-off, Bidanasi police arrived at the scene, took the body for post-mortem and have started investigating the incident.
In another development, several other people were reportedly attacked by the same bull in the area the same day.
The aggressive bull was however captured by a team of the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC).
