Bhubaneswar: An elocution competition was held on Thursday at the Harekrushna Mahtab State Library under the Department of Odia Language, Literature, and Culture, as part of the ongoing Seva Pakhya celebrations for readers and scholars.

The event aimed to encourage library users to hone their oratory skills and prepare for success in state and national-level competitive examinations, thereby bringing recognition to Odisha. The competition generated much enthusiasm among participants, who spoke on the topic “India After 2014.”

Debaprasad Dash, Special Secretary of the Odia Language, Literature, and Culture Department, and Anuja Tarini Mishra, Special Duty Officer, served as judges. After listening to the speeches, they offered valuable guidance to participants on how to become effective speakers in the future.

Winners in both the English and Odia categories were felicitated with stoles and certificates, while the event saw the active participation of all library staff.
