Bhubaneswar: Puri police have made extensive security arrangements for the upcoming Chandan Yatra at the Jagannath Temple, scheduled to begin on April 30.
The police will deploy additional personnel, including one Superintendent of Police (SP), five Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), eight inspectors, and more than five platoons of police force around Narendra Pond. These measures are being put in place to ensure smooth and safe festivities for all devotees.
A police facilitation center and help desk will also be set up near Narendra Pond. Devotees who face any issues during the event can approach the help desk for immediate assistance.
Furthermore, Puri police have issued a strict ban on the bursting of firecrackers during the Chandan Yatra.
“Anyone found violating this rule will be arrested,” said Puri SP Vinit Agrawal, adding that intelligence teams are monitoring the situation closely.
These efforts are aimed at maintaining law and order and ensuring a safe environment for the Chandan Yatra celebrations.
