Bhubaneswar: A farmer died after coming in contact with live electric wire laid for poaching wild animals at Talasakara village under Buguda police limits in Ganjam district on Saturday morning.
The deceased identified as Arun Nayak was irrigating his land last night. He came in contact with a live wire laid by poachers to hunt wild animals.
As Arun did not return home for a long time, the family member searched for him. The family members found him lying in the land in a critical condition.
They rescued him and admitted him to a nearby hospital where doctors declared Arun dead. Buguda police arrived and seized the dead body for post-mortem.
