Bhubaneswar: A farmer died after being trampled by an elephant at Pirungaguda village under Bhawanipatna block in Kalahandi district on Friday.
The deceased farmer has been identified as Laya Majhi (51).
Majhi was working in his field when the tusker suddenly appeared from behind and trampled him.
Upon being informed Forest department and police personnel have reached the scene and started an investigation.
