Bhubaneswar: The assessment of the Kharif crop losses has been completed. As of today, a total of Rs 21.96 crores has been disbursed directly into the bank accounts of around 1 lakh farmers who have incurred losses due to unseasonal rain in the month of December.

As per government reports, farmers suffered huge losses due to two spells of unseasonal rainfall in December. The state government had asked farmers to enrol in the portal of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana – Crop Insurance to report crop damage within 72 hours.
