Koida: As many as three persons including two children were killed and two sustained severe injuries of a family when the Scorpio they were travelling in was hit by a dumper at Rengalbedha Square under Koida police limits late Tuesday night.
All the deceased and injured belong to a family. They were returning to Koida after attending a marriage reception when a dumper crashed their car. While three died on the spot, three received severe injuries. Former sarpanch Sandhya Nayak is among the two who had received severe injuries.
The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital. As their condition deteriorated, they were shifted to a hospital in Rourkela.
Koida police, on a tip-off, rushed to the spot and began an investigation into it.
In a separate incident, as many as seven persons sustained injuries in a series of mishaps in Puri.
