Bhubaneswar: The body of one of the two brothers who drowned in the Kharasrota River under Jajpur Road police limits on Thursday was found on Friday morning. The deceased youth has been identified as Shaswat Ranjan Swain, the elder of the two siblings who drowned in the river while bathing yesterday and the search for the younger brother Swastik Ranjan Swain is underway.
On Thursday afternoon, some youths from the Basnagar area had gone to bathe in the Kharasrota River at Jokdia. While bathing Shashwat and Swastik drowned and went missing. The Fire Services personnel arrived at the spot and launched a search operation but could not find the two brothers.
After discontinuing the search last night, the firefighters arrived this morning and resumed the search. While the body of the elder brother Shashwat has been found, the younger brother is still missing.
