Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a fishermen warning for the Odisha coast, advising them not to venture into the sea on July 3 and 4.

According to the Meteorological Centre of Bhubaneswar, squally weather with wind speeds reaching 40-50 kmph, gusting up to 60 kmph is very likely to prevail along and off the Odisha coast on these two days. Sea conditions are expected to become rough to very rough during this period.

Fishermen have been strictly advised not to venture into the sea along and off the Odisha coast on July 3 and July 4 due to the unfavourable weather and sea conditions.

This warning comes in the wake of a likely Low-Pressure Area forming over the northwest Bay of Bengal around July 3. Mariners and coastal residents have also been asked to remain alert and keep a watch on further weather updates.
