Bhubaneswar: Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) today expelled five party functionaries for six years for allegedly attacking State President Sarat Pattnayak with ink inside his office at Congress Bhawan
The five party functionaries who faced the disciplinarian action are Prakash Mishra, General secretary, OPCC, Shriyasmita Panda, General secretary, Odisha Pradesh Mahila Congress, Sandip Routray, secretary, NSUI, Amresh Parida, State secretary, Youth Congress, Aryan Sasmal, State secretary, NSUI.
The action was taken against them on the basis of CCTV footage, a release issued by the OPCC stated.
Two days ago, some disgruntled workers of the party entered the party office wearing masks and threw ink at the PCC president Sarat Pattnayak.
The incident took place on Friday when the party chief was meeting leaders at his chamber in Congress Bhawan.
The workers entered the chamber, greeted him and suddenly threw ink at him, shouting slogan ‘Sarat Hatao, Congress Bachao.
