Bhubaneswar: Five minor boys have been arrested for allegedly killing their friend, Sahil Sahis (19), and dumping his body in a forest near Kukurkani under Brajrajnagar police station. The victim was hacked to death with a sharp weapon over a trivial matter of a silver neck chain.
The body was recovered from the forest two days ago, and Sahil’s father had initially registered a missing person complaint. Later, he alleged that his son was murdered by his friends.
Brajrajnagar SDPO, police, and a scientific team reached the spot and started investigation. The accused have been forwarded to Juvenile Court.
According to police, Sahil had been missing since February 1. The police received information about a body wrapped in polythene in the forest near Kukurikani village and recovered it. Three accused were detained and are being interrogated. The family members allege that Sahil’s friends killed him.
