Bhubaneswar: Security has been beefed up in parts of Bhubaneswar for Odisha Chief Minister’s swearing-in ceremony scheduled to be held at Janata Maidan on June 12 at 4.45 pm. This has been informed by Police Commissioner Sanjeeb Panda on Monday.
According to sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be attending the mega swearing-in ceremony of Odisha Chief Minister which is why police are leaving no stone unturned to ensure smooth conduct of the event.
Talking to the media, Police Commissioner Sanjeeb Panda informed that the security arrangements have been tightened for the oath-taking ceremony of the CM.
“The venue where the oath-taking ceremony will be held is guarded and sanitized. All hotels in the city are being checked as well. Blocking and checking are being carried out every day. Preparations have reached the final stage for the CM’s oath-taking ceremony as we have got the list”, said Panda.
As per CP’s decision, police forces will be deployed at high-rise buildings located near the Janata Maidan. Keeping the gathering of huge crowd for the ceremony in mind, traffic regulations will be imposed for the convenience of people.
“Apart from the Prime Minister, Cabinet Ministers and Chief Ministers of other states are expected to attend the swearing-in programme. Commissionerate Police is prepared to give them foolproof security. Police will impose diversion and restrictions as part of traffic regulations for the mega event. Special measures will be taken to ensure VIP’s foolproof safety at Biju Patnaik Airport, Governor’s House and Janata Maidan”, maintained Panda
The grand ceremony is expected to witness footprints of 35,000 people including Modi, CMs of other states, bureaucrats and VIPs.
