Former Cuttack Mayor Nibedita Pradhan Passes Away

Cuttack: Former MLA and former Mayor of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) Nibedita Pradhan passed away in a private hospital here today. She was 60.

A few days back Pradhan was admitted to the ICU of a private hospital after being afflicted with pneumonia.

Despite all efforts by the doctors, Pradhan breathed her last today afternoon.

Pradhan a lawyer by profession was elected as an MLA in the year 2000 from Cuttack Sadar seat on a BJP ticket. In 2005 she was elected as the Mayor of CMC.

A pall of gloom descended on the city as news of her death spread. Cutting across party lines leaders of different political parties, friends and well-wishers have mourned her death.
