Balasore: Former Nilagiri MLA Chittaranjan Sarangi resigned from the Congress on Tuesday. Sarangi has sent his resignation letter to All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Mallikarjun Kharge and Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Sarat Pattanayak.
Addressing a presser, Sarangi informed that he has resigned from the party after being disgusted with senior leader and party’s Lok Sabha candidate from Balasore Srikant Jena’s misbehaviour and activities. He said that he has decided to contest against Srikant Jena.
Sarangi has mentioned Jena’s misbehaviour in his resignation letter.
Sarangi was elected to the Odisha Assembly from the Nilagiri constituency as an independent candidate in 1990. Later, he joined the Janata Dal and Biju Janata Dal and in 2015 joined the Congress.
