Bhubaneswar: Four workers of an under-construction ethanol plant sustained serious injuries when a major fire broke out at the plant near Gateri village under Nuagaon police station limits in Nayagarh district.
According to information, construction work is underway at the plant. The fire erupted suddenly while testing of some machinery was in progress. The blaze quickly intensified, trapping four persons who were working at the site. The injured workers suffered 50 per cent burns.
As their condition was critical, they were given primary treatment and immediately shifted to a Bhubaneswar-based hospital for advanced medical care.
It is learnt that all four injured persons are residents of the local area. Police are probing the exact cause of the incident.
