Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader and G. Udayagiri MLA Saluga Pradhan on Monday filed his nomination papers for the election to the post of Deputy Speaker in the Odisha Assembly. The election for the post is scheduled for Tuesday.
Saluga Pradhan is the BJD’s tribal face of Kandhamal district.
The post of the Deputy Speaker fell vacant following the resignation of Rajanikant Singh on November 9 to work for the BJD organization.
Meanwhile, the Winter Session of the Odisha Assembly is scheduled to commence from tomorrow and continue till December 30.
