Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate police arrested two youths and a minor girl involved in the gang rape of a minor girl in Nayapalli police station area in the Capital city. Two other accused have been detained and are being interrogated, said DCP Pinak Mishra during a press meet.
The arrested accused are Raja Patnaik (19) from Daruthenga of Bhubaneswar, and Dipak Behera from Niladri Vihar, Bhubaneswar. Similarly, the detained accused are Prakash Behera from Sailashree Vihar and Papu Dwivedi from Baidhar Colony, Old Town in Bhubaneswar.
According to the victim’s complaint, her minor friend introduced her to four youths who lured and raped her at an undisclosed location. The accused also made viral the video of the incident and demanded Rs 50,000 from the victim’s mother, threatening to circulate it on social media.
DCP Mishra stated that police raids led to the arrest of two accused and the minor girl who aided them. The seized evidence, including mobile phones and clothing, will be sent to a forensic laboratory for examination, he added.
