Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Friday apprehended Principal of a government higher secondary school while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000.
According to an official press release, Nabin Kumar Sahoo, Principal of Govt. (SSD) Higher Secondary School (+2 College), Gopalpur under Th. Rampur Block in Kalahandi district was apprehended by Vigilance officials while he was demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs10,000 at his office chamber from a woman (Complainant) in lieu of admission of her daughter in +2 Science First Year and to help her daughter during practical examination.
The entire tainted bribe money has been recovered and seized from the possession of accused Sahoo.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are underway at two locations of Sahoo from disproportionate assets (DA) angle.
The anti-graft agency has registered a case against Sahoo under section 7 of the PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 at Koraput Vigilance police station on Thursday.
Further investigation against accused Sahoo is underway.
