Baripada: Two persons were killed in a tragic road accident after a car collided head-on with a passenger bus near Kadadiha area under Karanjia police station limits in Mayurbhanj district.
The deceased have been identified as Sanjay Kumar Bal and Nilamani Sahu and Prakash Kumar Bal Samant (driver of the car) of Bhubanpur village under Dharmasala block in Jajpur district.
According to reports, Prakash along with Sanjay and Nilamani Sahu from Kukuda Khali village were travelling in a car towards Karanjia when their vehicle collided head-on with a passenger bus named ‘Prashanti’ near Tangurusahi area. The impact of the collision was so severe that Sanjay and Nilamani died on the spot.
The car driver Prakash sustained critical injuries and was immediately rushed to a nearby medical facility. Later, due to his deteriorating condition, he was referred to the District Headquarters Hospital in Mayurbhanj. The car bearing a Jajpur district registration number and the passenger bus have been seized by Karanjia police for further investigation.
