Hit-And-Run Case: Tea Seller Run Over In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A tea seller was killed in a hit-and-run case when a speeding car ran over him outside his tea stall in Bhubaneswar on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Dilip Parida, a native of Binjharpur in Odisha’s Jajpur district.

According to reports, the accident occurred when Dilip was cleaning the area in front of his tea shop in the Saheed Nagar area in the capital city this morning. A speeding car (OD 33AK 6888) ran over Dilip killing him on the spot. Seeing him lying in a pool of blood, the local residents informed the police about the accident.

The police rescued Dilip and rushed him to a nearby hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead. The body has been sent for autopsy.

A case has been registered in this connection and the police have launched a hunt to nab the driver.
