Bargarh: A hotel owner was found dead with his throat slit at a paddy field under Paikamal police limits in Bargarh district last night, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Pinku Sahu (37), a resident of Mandosil village under the police limits.
According to sources, Pintu used to run a hotel located in front of Nuapada tehsil office. A few miscreants allegedly attacked Pinku with sharp weapons and left him to writhe in pain on Bhutamunda Road near his village last night.
Acting on a tip-off, his family members rushed to the spot and took him to Nuapada District Headquarters Hospital where he was declared dead.
Pinku’s body had injury marks on his head and neck. His body will be handed over to his family members after post-mortem, informed police.
Pinku was involved in ganja smuggling. Police suspect past rivalry over ganja smuggling behind the gruesome murder.
