Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Housing and Urban Development Department has launched a 40-day residential Induction Training Programme for newly appointed Accountants of Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) at the Madhusudan Das Regional Academy of Financial Management (MDRAFM) in Bhubaneswar.
The programme was formally inaugurated by Arindam Dakua, Director, Municipal Administration. In his address, he emphasised the critical role of ULB accountants in ensuring transparent and accountable urban financial systems. The training aims to strengthen participants’ capacities in financial management, urban governance, and practical field operations, enabling them to contribute effectively to the functioning of Urban Local Bodies.
Sikha Biswal, Financial Advisor, H&UD Department, Bibhudutta Acharya, Course Director of the training programme, and senior officials from the Department and MDRAFM were present on the occasion and interacted with the trainees.
The comprehensive training schedule includes classroom sessions, field exposure visits, and hands-on exercises, ensuring holistic capacity building of the participants. This initiative reflects the Department’s commitment to building a professional and responsive urban administration system in Odisha.
