Bhubaneswar: On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan today, a function was organised at the State Guest House. Girls from schools, colleges and various institutions flocked to the State Guest House and tied rakhi on Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi’s wrist. He was adorable ‘Mohan Bhai’ for them.
According to an official press release, girls, women and little children tied rakhi and offered sweets to the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister blessed everyone and gave them gifts.
Speaking to the media on this occasion, the Chief Minister said that today is the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan and Gamha Purnami. On this occasion, he wished happiness, peace and prosperity to all the sisters in the State and promised to keep everyone safe. He said that the state government is going to implement Subhadra Yojana for women.
The Chief Minister prayed to the Mahaprabhu for everyone’s well-being in these changing times.
The Raksha Bandhan program was conducted in a calm, pleasant and joyful atmosphere. More than 500 girls and women from about 40 organizations tied rakhi on the Chief Minister’s wrist.
The first to come was the Chief Minister’s sister Rasmani Majhi. She tied rakhi to the Chief Minister and fed him sweets. Then it was the turn of Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida and senior leader Purnima Kerketa. School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond, MLA Babu Singh and other prominent leaders were present on the occasion.
