Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police registered a case on Tuesday against the owner of a firecracker godown, following an explosion after massive fire that broke out a day earlier at the godown located in the Chunukoli slum under Infocity police limits in the city.
The godown owner has been identified as Bighnaraj Pattnaik.
According to reports, the police have registered a case against Patnaik and are conducting raids in various locations to locate him. Meanwhile, the Infocity police has sealed the firecracker godown and is continuing investigation.
Police revealed that the firecracker godown was operating in a house that also served as a ladies’ hostel. Over 20 young women were reportedly living there as tenants.
