Rourkela: An illegal liquor bottling unit running from a private school at Fuljhar under Nuagaon block of Sundargarh district was busted by Excise officials on Sunday.
Two persons identified as Pawan Kumar Mittal and Surendra Bodek have been apprehended in this connection.
Reportedly, the accused persons used to procure cheap liquor, transfer it to separate bottles, label it with brands, and sell it in the market.
On the instruction of Excise Commissioner Ashish Kumar Singh, Rourkela Excise Superintendent Sheikh Asaf Ali directed a team to conduct a raid.
During the raid, the Excise squad seized about 1000 litres of liquor, a large number of labels of branded liquor companies, bottles, and a car.
