Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a strong advisory for fishermen, urging them not to venture into the sea along and off the North Odisha coast for the next two days due to expected squally weather and rough sea conditions.
According to the Meteorological Centre Bhubaneswar, squally weather with wind speeds reaching 40-50 kmph and gusting up to 60 kmph is very likely to prevail on May 28 and May 29.
Sea conditions are forecast to remain rough to very rough during this period. Fishermen have been strictly advised not to venture into the sea along and off the North Odisha coast on these two days.
The IMD has asked fishermen to exercise extreme caution and take necessary precautions to ensure the safety of lives and fishing equipment.
