IMD Alert: Heavy Downpour Expected In Odisha For Four More Days

Bhubaneswar: A low-pressure area has been formed in the Bay of Bengal and its surrounding areas which may lead to heavy rainfall in several districts of Odisha, predicted the India Meteorological Department.

According to the latest IMD forecast for today, heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Bolangir, Nuapada, Sonepur, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Angul, Deogarh, Boudh and Kalahandi.

According to the IMD prediction for July 28, heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) rain is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Nuapada and Nabarangpur.

Heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Balasore, according to the prediction of IMD for July 29.

A yellow warning has been issued for heavy rainfall in five districts of Odisha for July 30.  As per IMD prediction, heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak and Jajpur.

For July 31, IMD forecasted heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Sundargarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Kendrapada, Deogarh, Malkangiri, Koraput, and Rayagada.

Heavy rainfall was recorded in various districts of Odisha, with the highest amount of 14 cm in Nandapur (Koraput), followed by 13 cm in Jeypore (Koraput) and 11 cm in Lamataput (Koraput), Muruda, (Mayurbhanj), Bhograi (Balasore), Banaigarh (Sundargarh), and Rampur (Kalahandi).
