Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday issued a nowcast warning predicting thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, light to moderate rainfall, and gusty winds reaching 40–50 kmph. The weather system is likely to impact parts of Odisha within the next three hours.
According to the IMD bulletin issued at 1:50 pm, adverse weather conditions are expected to occur at one or two places over 10 districts of the state.
The affected districts include Angul, Sonepur, Khordha (including Bhubaneswar city), Puri, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Koraput, and Gajapati.
The IMD has advised residents to remain alert and monitor weather updates closely. People have also been urged to move to safer locations where necessary and take precautions against thunderstorms and lightning strikes.
