Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday issued a nowcast warning forecasting thunderstorms with lightning and light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by gusty winds reaching 30–40 kmph, likely at isolated places over 11 districts of Odisha within the next three hours.
According to the IMD, the alert issued at 1:40 pm indicates that adverse weather conditions are likely to affect Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput and Kalahandi districts.
The weather department further stated that thunderstorms with lightning and rainfall activity may occur at one or two places in these districts during this period.
The IMD has advised residents to remain alert and monitor weather updates closely.
It has also urged people to move to safer locations during thunderstorm activity and take necessary precautions to protect themselves from lightning strikes and strong winds.
