Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a strong advisory for fishermen, asking them not to venture into the sea along and off the Odisha Coast from July 2 to July 5, 2026.

According to the IMD forecast, squally weather with wind speeds reaching 40-50 kmph, gusting up to 60 kmph, is very likely to prevail over the next four days. Sea conditions are expected to remain rough to very rough during this period.

Fishermen have been strictly advised to avoid going into the sea during these days to ensure their safety.

This forecast comes amid the active southwest monsoon over the Bay of Bengal and follows recent heavy rainfall and thunderstorm warnings issued for several districts of Odisha.
