Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted heavy rain in several parts of Odisha from September 13 under the influence of a cyclonic circulation that lies over central parts of Myanmar extending up to mid-tropospheric levels.
The system is likely to move west-northwest and lies over coastal Bangladesh and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal during next two days, an IMD bulletin stated.
The weather agency has issued a yellow warning of heavy rainfall for several districts. Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) and thunderstorms with lightning are very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar on September 13.
Thunderstorm with lightning are very likely to occur in parts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati on September 13.
The districts like Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Sambalpur, Angul, Bargarh, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, and Sundargarh are expected to experience heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) and thunderstorm with lightning on September 14.
