Bhubaneswar: Under the influence of cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal, Odisha districts including Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati and Ganjam are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall in the next four days, according to the latest prediction of India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Meanwhile, IMD also issued a yellow warning for heavy rainfall to Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nuapada and Bargarh districts.
Going by IMD prediction, the cyclonic storm located over the west-central and northwest Bay of Bengal may cause heavy rainfall in the state.
Many districts witnessed rainfall activities on Wednesday due to the formation of a cyclonic circulation over BoB.
Going by IMD reports, Nayagarh received 110 mm of rainfall, followed by Parlakhemundi (70 mm), Nabarangpur (23 mm), Bhubaneswar (21.3 mm), Malkangiri (17 mm), Titlagarh (15 mm), Phulbani (14 mm), and Daringbadi (13 mm).
Malkangiri and Koraput districts may receive even heavier rainfall (115 mm to 200 mm) on Thursday.
