Heavy Rainfall

Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of IMD has forecasted intense rainfall, likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Boudh, Subarnapur, and Sambalpur, today.

The weather office, in its Wednesday mid-day bulletin, stated that heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur in the aforementioned districts.

Meanwhile, the districts of Bhadrak, Balasore, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Bolangir, Nuapada, Nayagarh, Khordha, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, and Kalahandi are very likely to receive heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) today, as per IMD.

The local office of the India Meteorological Department has also predicted continuity of light to moderate rainfall activity throughout the state, with chances of thunderstorms and lightning for the week.

The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack will have a cloudy sky today, with chances of heavy rainfall, a maximum temperature of 30°C and a minimum temperature of 25°C.

The local weather office has alerted people residing in the low-lying regions of Cuttack about water logging, occasionally poor visibility and likely traffic disruption in the urban areas.

The regional office of IMD has advised people to avoid movement in the affected area, make arrangements for excess water drainage and be vigilant about changing weather.
