Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a cyclonic circulation over the North Andaman Bay of Bengal around October 20.
The system is expected develop into a low pressure in the region by October 22, informed Manorama Mohanty, Director, Regional Meteoroidal Centre in Bhubaneswar.
“Some districts of Odisha are likely to experience rain on October 23 and 24 under the influence of the low pressure. There is currently no information about a potential storm,” Mohanty said.
Weather expert Sarat Chandra Sahu noted, “The upper air cyclonic circulation is moving quickly and may make landfall in Odisha, West Bengal, or Bangladesh on October 23 or 24”.
By that time, it could evolve into a deep depression or a marginal cyclone, he added.
The coastal districts including Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Balasore, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, and Dhenkanal, may experience rainfall under its impact.
