Bhubaneswar: India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of thunderstorms with lightning in 20 districts of Odisha during the next 24 hours.
“Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj during the next 24 hours,” the IMD has said in its midday bulletin.
The IMD has issued ‘Yellow Warning’ for the aforementioned districts.
Besides, during the next 24 hours light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of South Interior Odisha, Gajapati, Ganjam and at a few places over the rest districts of Odisha, the IMD said.
Further, in its forecast for Bhubaneswar and neighbourhood, the IMD has said that the sky will remain partly cloudy with possibility of rain or thundershower.
Here’s the IMD’s forecast and warning for the next four days:
Day 1 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 11.07.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 12.07.2023)
Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of South Odisha and at a few places over the districts of North Odisha.
YELLOW WARNING:-(BE UPDATED) 1)Heavy Rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Nawarangapur, Nuapada, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Gajapati, Kandhamal. 2) Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nawarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Gajapati, Ganjam, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar.
Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 12.07.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 13.07.2023)
Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of South Odisha and at a few places over the districts of North Odisha.
YELLOW WARNING:-(BE UPDATED) Heavy Rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Puri, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj.
Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 13.07.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 14.07.2023)
Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of South Coastal Odisha, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Kandhamal and at a few places over the rest districts of Odisha.
YELLOW WARNING:-(BE UPDATED) Heavy Rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Bargarh, Jharsuguda.
Day 4 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 14.07.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 15.07.2023)
Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha.
YELLOW WARNING:-(BE UPDATED) Heavy Rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore.
