Bhubaneswar: IndiGo is scheduled to begin daily direct flights from Veer Surendra Sai Airport in Odisha’s Jharsuguda to Kolkata and Bengaluru from November 5 and November 15, respectively.
This information was shared by the Jharsuguda airport authorities on its official X handle.
Since flight operations commenced at the Veer Surendra Sai (VSS) Airport in Jharsuguda in April 2019, 2,00,000 passengers flew from this small airport situated at the industrial hub of Odisha on average every year.
The operationalisation of the Jharsuguda airport has improved the lives and lifestyles of several people in this industrial belt and also neighbouring Chhattisgarh.
Meanwhile, this information comes in the wake of the reports that Alliance Air may stop its operations to Bhubaneswar and Kolkata from Jharsuguda on October 29 owing to a drop in flight occupancy.
