Bhubaneswar: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration has suspended servitor Kishan Mekap also known as Narayan Mekap from his seva and puja duties until further orders following a physical scuffle inside the Ratna Bhandar of the Srimandir.
The Chief Administrator of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration in Puri has suspended servitor Kishan Mekap from seva and puja duties until further orders following an alleged scuffle inside the Ratna Bhandar of Srimandir during the ongoing inventory-related process.
According to sources, a heated argument broke out between Kisan Mekap and his uncle over entry into the treasury chamber of the temple. The verbal altercation allegedly escalated into a physical confrontation inside the ‘Bhandar Ghara’, creating tension during the ongoing inventory and related proceedings.
The situation was later brought under control after intervention by administrative officials present at the spot.
Temple Chief Administrator said the dispute arose due to personal reasons between the two and clarified that the counting and inventory-related work inside the Ratna Bhandar was not disrupted because of the incident.
