Jharsuguda Records Highest Rainfall At 114.3MM In Odisha In Past 24 Hours

Bhubaneswar: Western Odisha received heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours, with Jharsuguda district recording the highest in the state.

According to data released by the regional meteorological centre, Jharsuguda station recorded 114.3 mm of rain, followed by Chikiti in Ganjam district with 111.4 mm and Betanati in Mayurbhanj with 93.0 mm.

Other places that recorded significant rainfall include Bamra in Sambalpur with 91.0 mm, Jhumpura in Keonjhar with 85.4 mm, and Koshagumuda in Nabarangapur with 83.6 mm.

A total of 10 stations across the state recorded heavy rainfall. The district average rainfall for Odisha in the past 24 hours stood at 12.0 mm against the normal of 14.4 mm, showing a departure of -16%.

On the temperature front, Paralakhemundi recorded the highest maximum at 36.2°C, while Boudh recorded the lowest minimum at 19.5°C. In the capital cities, Bhubaneswar received 38.1 mm of rain with a maximum of 34.6°C and minimum of 25.0°C. Cuttack recorded 14.2 mm of rain with a maximum of 35.2°C and minimum of 23.4°C.
