Bhubaneswar: Keonjhar police have arrested 20 persons suspected to be involved in a series of gold chain snatching incidents that shook Keonjhar town on July 16, 2025.

According to an official announcement shared on the social media platform X by the Keonjhar Superintendent of Police (SP), a special police team was formed under the SP’s guidance to investigate the case promptly.

The intensive probe revealed that an organised inter-state gang was behind the crime wave. The gang primarily operated from Dasamania, Mundamal, and Purbakote areas of Jajpur district in Odisha.

Investigations further uncovered the gang’s extensive network, with links stretching across Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Andhra Pradesh.
