Bhubaneswar: The rituals at Lord Lingaraj Temple in Bhubaneswar remained suspended for the third consecutive day today due to the discord between the temple servitors.
The Brahmins and Pujapanda servitors stopped the rituals on Sunday i.e. January 1 after a devotee entered the Bhoga Mandap, where the ‘Kotha Bhoga’ and ‘Abadha Prasad’ of the Lord were placed.
While the temple supervisor ordered to bury the prasad and prepare fresh food for the Lord, it was alleged that the prasad though not being presented to the Lord was being sold to the public.
As the row continues, Lord Lingaraj has not been served the prasad in this new year. No conclusion has been drawn over the issue despite several meetings.
