Bhubaneswar: Leader of Opposition (LoP) Naveen Patnaik expressed condolence over the death of a three-year-old girl and her mother in a firecracker explosion at Jagatpur in Cuttack.
Through his post, he expressed solidarity with the affected families and showed empathy towards them during a difficult time.
“I am deeply saddened to learn about the firecracker explosion in Jagatpur, Cuttack, which resulted in the loss of two precious lives. I pray for the eternal peace of the departed souls and for the speedy recovery of the injured. My heartfelt condolences to the grieving families during this painful time,” he posted on his X handle.
It is pertinent to mention that the incident occurred on Thursday evening when a firecracker suddenly exploded while being stored at a residence, severely injuring the two women and the child. The victims were rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, where the mother and child died. The third person remains in critical condition and is being treated at SCB.
