Bhubaneswar: The low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal has further intensified and concentrated into a well-marked low pressure area, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Monday morning.
In its 5:30 AM bulletin today, the IMD stated that the system, which was lying as a low pressure area over the east-central Bay of Bengal, has moved west-northwestwards and now lies as a well-marked low pressure area over the east-central and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal.
The system is very likely to continue moving in a west-northwestward direction and concentrate further. It is very likely to intensify into a depression during the next 24 hours over the west-central Bay of Bengal. After becoming a depression, it is expected to further intensify into a deep depression during the subsequent 24 hours.
Continuing its track, the system is very likely to reach the west-central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal near the South Odisha – North Andhra Pradesh coasts around the morning of September 23.
