Bhubaneswar: Under the influence of the upper air cyclonic circulation over North Bay of Bengal and adjoining Bangladesh, a Low Pressure Area has formed over North Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood at 5:30 am today. Under its impact, heavy rainfall is likely at various places in North Odisha, according to prediction of the India Meteorological Department.
For today, an Orange Warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall has been issued for Kendrapada and Jagatsinghpur districts. Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind reaching 40-50 kmph is very likely at one or two places over Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Kataka, Sundaragada, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Puri and Khordha.
Under Yellow Warning, heavy rainfall is very likely at one or two places over Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kataka, Dhenkanal, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Puri and Khordha, while thunderstorm with gusty wind of 30-40 kmph is likely over Jharsuguda, Baragada, Sambalpur, Debagada, Anugola, Dhenkanal, Gajapati, Ganjam and Nayagada.
