Low Pressure Area Likely Over South Andaman Sea On May 5

Bhubaneswar: A Low Pressure Area is likely to form over South Andaman Sea and neighbourhood on May 5 under the influence of a cyclonic circulation over the same region, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday.

The system is likely become more marked during subsequent 24 hours.

Meanwhile, light to moderate rainfall or thunderstorm with lightning is likely to occur at several places across Odisha for the next five days.

There will be no large change in maximum temperature (day temperature) during the next 24 hours and it will decrease by 2-3°C thereafter during the next 3 days over the districts of Odisha. Maximum temperature is likely to be above normal by 3 to 5°C at many places over districts of interior Odisha during the next 24 hours and it is likely to be above normal by 2 to 3 °C over districts of interior Odisha thereafter.

Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Keonjhar and thunderstorm with
lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, and Kendrapara today.

On May 1, thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Rayagada, Gajapati and thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Dhenkanal,
Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangpur,
Kandhamal, anf Ganjam.

On May 2, thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur and thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nawarangpur, and Nayagarh.

On May 3, thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Angul, Boudh, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, and Gajapati.

Similarly, thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Angul, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Nawarangpur, Rayagada, and Koraput on May 4.
