Malkangiri: A section of the boundary wall at Malkangiri airport collapsed due to incessant rainfall in the region.
According to reports, this is not the first such incident. A similar collapse in the past resulted in two deaths. Despite multiple repairs, the wall continues to be vulnerable to rain-related damage thanks to poor construction quality and faulty design.
Meanwhile, residents attributed the wall’s poor design and lack of a proper drainage system to the wall collapse. Heavy rainfall for four hours on Sunday caused water to accumulate, and the rainwater flowing down from the nearby hill added extra pressure. This led to the wall collapsing and damaging the nearby asphalt road.
