Bhubaneswar: A 26-year-old woman died under mysterious circumstances at Jharadiha village under Kundeigola police limits in Deogarh district.
The deceased has been identified as Chanchala, daughter of Ramesh Majhi.
As per reports, Chanchala’s husband, Bibhuti Bhusan Pradhan, has a history of physically abusing his wife. The couple had three children together, and neighbours reported hearing frequent arguments and fights between them.
The accused husband allegedly thrashed his wife Chanchala, yesterday for some unknown reason. The critically injured Chanchala was rushed to Chhatabar Hospital, where she was declared dead.
After learning about his wife’s death, the accused husband reportedly left their three children at the hospital beside their mother’s lifeless body and fled. Last night, the body of the deceased woman lay in the hospital ward while her three children mourned beside her, sources said.
Meanwhile, Riamal police police have taken custody of the body and are investigating the incident.
