Bhadrak: A 25-year-old man was arrested for allegedly killing his mother at Gudiasahi under Jirina village within the Bonth police station limits in Bhadrak district on Sunday.
The accused, identified as Pritam Sahoo, allegedly attacked his mother, Mamata Sahoo, with an axe following a suspected family dispute.
According to reports, the incident came to light after police received information from locals. Following this, a team from Bonth police station rushed to the spot, detained the accused, and seized the axe allegedly used in the crime.
The accused has been taken into custody and is being interrogated to ascertain the exact motive behind the murder.
Further investigation is underway.
