Bhawanipatna: Kalahandi police have arrested one Khageswar Gouda of Baghel village under Narla police limits on charges of providing logistic support to Maoists.
Nine detonators, three Maoist posters, electric wires and a mobile phone have been seized from Gouda’s possession, police said.
Gouda was supplying Maoist posters, literature, detonators, etc to the KKBN Division of the Maoists, police added.
“We have apprehended Khageswar Gouda today for his links with Maoists. A case has been registered against him at Narla police station.
He has been booked under 120, 121A, 124 sections of IPC read with 17,19,19,20 sections of the UAPA Act. We have seized Maoist literature, posters, detonators used for IEDs from his possession,” informed Kalahandi SP Shravana Vivek addressing a press meet here today.
He will be forwarded to court today, Shravana Vivek added.
The Kalahandi SP said that a few days back police had arrested a teacher, his son and nephew on charges of supplying communication devices (walkie talkie sets) to Maoists.
During the course of the investigation, it was found that Gouda had links with the arrested teacher and had involvement with Maoists, the SP added.
